CTA Executive

Subject to By-Laws 5, 7, and 11, the Executive Committee shall exercise all the powers of the Association, the direction and supervision of the business and conduct of the affairs for the Association.

The Executive Committee shall evaluate the work of all committees of the Association

The Standing Committees of the Association shall be:

•the Policies and Procedures Committee
-Ensures that all statements in the CTA Constitution, By-Laws and Policies are reviewed/updated annually; serves as an advisory group on matters of policy and  procedure
• the Professional Development Committee
-Assists teachers by providing professional development services that improve the quality of teaching.
• the Scholarship, Awards & Bursary Committee
-Responsible for adjudicating and approving applications for the various Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries handled by the CTA
• the Teachers Teaching on Call Committee
-Responsible for making recommendations to the CTA with regard to issues involving TTOCs
• the Adult Education Committee
-Increases awareness of and respect of Adult Educators who teach within Continuing Education in SD43; works towards parity with working and learning  conditions of K-12 teachers
• the Committee for Action on Social Justice
-Supports efforts of teachers to develop instructional strategies, techniques and/or programs in classrooms that deal with social issues in our community
• the BIPOC Educators’ Committee
-identifies and reviews issues/concerns relating to educators who identify as BIPOC; makes recommendations to the CTA Executive Committee; provides a space for BIPOC educators to share concerns and access support; and reviews and shares resources.
